Acute General Surgery GP Referral Line: 07918611983
The General Surgery Team at Lister have recently updated the GP referral service so there is now a direct contact number for GPs to refer emergency adult general surgery patients. We appreciate that our GP colleagues are under immense pressure in the community and the aim is to provide quick, easy access for the GPs to refer patients without having to go through switchboard, which can be time consuming. This also allows the surgical team to plan for incoming GP referrals which overall provides a better experience for our patients
UPDATE: There has been a change to the GP referral service for emergency adult general surgery referrals with immediate effect.
GPs can now refer directly via the mobile phone (number above) held by the surgical ACP 08.30 - 20.00 7 days a week.
The aim is to improve ease of access for GPs contacting the general surgery on call team, improve patient experience, streamline referrals and enhance care coordination.
